What is Air Sampling?
Personal Air sampling is carried out to ensure that workplace or environmental air is meeting regulatory standards and to help Occupational Hygienists assess employee exposure to airborne hazards. An example of an airborne dust hazard – would be concrete dust from a cutting disk.
Why carry out Personal Air Sampling?
This will establish whether any exposure to hazardous substances poses a serious risk to health from inhalation of the substance and to check exposure limits that are applicable.
Is is it a legal requirement?
Yes- under Regulation 10 of the Control of Substances hazardous to Health Regulations, the employer shall ensure that the exposure of employees to substances hazardous to health is monitored in accordance with a suitable procedure.
How much will it cost?
Our costs include laboratory analysis at an HSE approved laboratory and also the technicians time. Typically welding fume analysis in a small workshop would cost £280 plus VAT.
